Her therapeutic approach is primarily grounded in psychodynamic therapy, highlighting the significance of early relational dynamics in shaping individual experiences and worldviews. She also integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help patients challenge distorted thought patterns and develop effective coping skills. Additionally, Alexandra incorporates principles of liberation psychology, challenging traditional frameworks and emphasizing the impact of social, political, and economic factors on mental health and well-being.

Alexandra's areas of interest include the impact of systemic oppression on mental health, particularly in relation to racism and colonization. She is also interested in adverse childhood experiences, intergenerational trauma, and immigration-related trauma, as well as acculturative stress and rehabilitation within the criminal justice system. Alexandra is dedicated to creating a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where patients can explore their experiences with curiosity and openness.
